When it comes to rulers and positions of power in ancient Egypt, there were social systems in place—a kind of “pyramid” of society in Egypt, having fewer people at the top (with pharaoh as head honcho) and more and more people as you went down. Another pyramid of hierarchy was the Egyptian government, a very large and complicated bureaucracy led again by—you guessed it, pharaoh!
